The new generation of workforce, the Millennials, wants to grow with a company that respects their individuality while being part of a noble cause. Such opportunity is possible when one becomes a Financial Advisor. This is a door that Sun Life (of Canada) Philippines, Inc. opens wider with a recruitment drive called #LiveBrighter. It aims to present the profession as a career choice for Millennials who wish to have the time and resources to pursue their passions as they advocate financial foresight and planning.
What is Millennials?
"Millennials are known to be slashers as they juggle a lot of things like travelling, blogging, and other passion projects on top of their 8-5 jobs. It sounds very aspirational but how can they sustain this in terms of time and resources?" said Sun Life Recruitment manager Fin Bernardo. "With that in mind, we see that the profession of a Financial Advisor is a perfect fit for their lifestyle," added by Bernardo.
After introducing the Financial Advisor in popular culture thru its engagement with Cinema One's Single/Single, Sun Life dishes out the #LiveBrighter Sessions. This is a series of meet-ups to show how a Financial Advisor lives up to the demands and rewards of the profession. It aims to reach more Millennials and send them the message that their dream job is just here all along.
Guided by the core values of a Sun Life Financial Advisor - caring, professional, inspiring, and winning- #LiveBrighter Sessions will give a taste of the benefits one can enjoy in choosing this particular career path. More than the chance to earn unlimited income, it also provides perks such as all-expense travel and the freedom to work an unbridled schedule.
With more Filipinos keen on getting insurance and investment products, the possibilities for new Advisors are endless. "We need more Financial Advisors to educate Filipinos on the importance of preparing for unexpected life's events and offer them solutions that lets them have Money for Life." explained Bernardo.

Tripkada = Your Trip Barkada ready to go out, explore, and have exciting adventures!
Travel enthusiasts flocked to Poblacion, Makati on August 10, 2016 for the sixth edition of FlipTrip’s Travel Meetup. But unlike every other meetup, this time, FlipTrip had something special in store for its guests.
That Wednesday night, FlipTrip launched its new mobile app, Tripkada, a platform where travellers can join group trips organised by fellow travellers. No need to wait for your friends to match with your schedules, budgets, and interests. No need to panic when flakers become one too many. Whether you’re a solo traveler, or a small group of friends, go on your next adventure and fill up your bucket list in a fun and affordable way with Tripkada.
Simply log into the app, scroll through the available trips, and pick what you want to do for your weekend. Reserving your slot has never been easier! There is a convenient downpayment system that allows you to pay PHP500-1500 before the trip, and let’s you settle the rest at the meet-up point when you depart with your newfound group of travel buddies!
You can download the Tripkada App on the Google Play today! Fret not, iPhone users, the iOS version will come out on the app store in a few months.
Trips are organised by fellow travellers who apply via their website, http://www.tripkada.com/ and are curated by Tripkada, to help ensure that everyone has a great experience.
Indeed, it was a night full of excitement, as guests learned more about what new possibilities there are in travel and exploring the Philippines. FlipTrip CEO, April Cuenca, talked to the crowd, admitting that it was still a new concept, with the app still on Beta Release. She asks for the community of travellers to help them work to make it better, by letting her and the Tripkada team know if they encounter any problems or if they have any ideas to make it even better.
After that, guests got to compete for travel gear perfect for their upcoming trips with Tripkada. Lifeproof phones cases flew off the table quickly, together with hiking shoes from Hi-Tec PH, and outdoor wear from Columbia Sportswear, Mountain Hardwear, and prAna! People fought over Vivo Lumio Your To-Go Kits, a definite must-have, with not just sanitisers, but also odour absorbers, and insect repellants in the kits. Gift Certificates were also up for grabs from Bitspace, The Circle Hostel, Ganso Shabuway, and Z Hostel. Paymaya cards and Latchpads were also everywhere!
Who could forget the free beer served up by Miller Genuine Draft, and the food from Boteco Brasil sponsored by PLDT SME Nation? Guests proudly flashed their beer and dishes on their instagram accounts using the hashtag #TripkadaLaunch
Everyone had a blast coming together as a travel community, and welcoming the launch of FlipTrip’s new app, Tripkada. It is truly inspiring to find so many people excited and eager to explore the Philippines together!
What is TRIPKADA?
FLIPTRIP.PH is a local travel startup that focuses on off-the-beaten-path destinations in the Philippines, and helping people to plan and arrange their trips according to their own preferences and budgets, no matter where. They created an online travel booking platform for small businesses and individuals who They got started after founders, April Cuenca and Ragde Falcis, won the Ideaspace Competition in 2014 where they got our seed funding. Since then, They’ve been recognised at the United Nations and ASEAN for creating a sustainable business model that enables growth in local communities through and with tourism.
FlipTrip is committed to building the travel community of the Philippines, enabling travellers local and international alike, to go out and explore the country in a easy and affordable way.
Tripkada is a mobile app that allows users to join trips planned and organised by fellow travellers. Think uberpooling for trips = trip-pooling. Instead of paying for an entire package, users can simply book a slot on a trip and join other travellers, split the bill, meet new friends, and tick things off their bucket list for less.
The launch of Tripkada also marks FlipTrip’s venture into mobile apps, to help both informal and independent trip organisers and traditional travel agencies in organising and find joiners for their open group trips. Tripkada crowdsources these trip organisers and curates them, to help ensure the welfare of its travellers.
Trips found on Tripkada can range from beach bumming and island hopping trips, to mountain climbing, cycling, caving, diving, snorkeling, and other adventure activities whether hard or soft-core adventures that can be experienced in the Philippines.
Because the group is able to share and split the expenses, trips can cost anywhere from PHP750 to PHP2500 for day trips, depending on the destination/s and activities included, and PHP1500 to PHP3500 for overnight and long weekend trips coming from Manila.
